Got done with another custom welded mailbox yesterday. This one was dressed to the nines. The body of the mailbox is raw steel and will patina to a uniform leather brown over time and look like the one in this picture of our prototype. The new "Sez" mailbox has a solid steel flag with stops and solid steel hinge and 40lb test super magnet latch system and will last a lifetime.

We can still put a newspaper open slot as an option at no extra cost.

Back in San Antonio and wanted to share a few pics from our recent travels. We will be off the charts busy this month so we will keep you posted with blog updates.
Here was our week! We made a prototype for custom bike billboards for a client who started a company to do bike advertisements in San Antonio. Made some forged scroll flag holders. Started a bulk order of custom signs for a local restaurant. Got our measurements for our public art piece that we are doing for the city for SAWS the water department. We also have a huge opportunity with a one of a kind community in Florida but we will let you know soon on that.
Dropped off a huge 6 person conference desk with custom Italian leather barstools that swing out from below and they glide like ice skates! Also the stools are swivel adjustable up and down for the perfect height. We over built every part of this one with super thick steel and everything was so solid each seat can hold 450 lbs or more. Then we were on to Jewett Texas to pick up two old sculptures and now we are sand blasting the big one painting it orange and shipping it up to a ranch in New Jersey where it will live its days out in our clients private collection. We love the custom furniture game but the first love is sculpture. We recently were hired to fabricate three large public art projects for three separate artists and are going to gear up for much more of that type of thing in the upcoming year.
Go grab an amazing hamburger at Chris Madrids http://www.chrismadrids.com . Eat at the new picnic tables we made them. Some of the most friendly people we have ever worked with. If you need tables benches or other restaurant fixtures including full bar builds and stainless kitchen racks let us know we can hook you up with cool hand built long life pieces at great prices!
Done with a half dozen custom leather swivel stools. These are so smooth with a custom Italian leather color for RoMa Craft in Austin. These will mount to the big conference table and swing out from below and then be adjustable with a classic screw mechanism. Built a few mailboxes the other day and stained quite a bit more wood.
Doing some custom leatherwork for our RoMa Craft stools that swing out from the big conference table we are building. We made a custom rack for our electricians next door to put pipe on top of the new van. Gearing up to build a prototype for a bicycle billboard company, and about to start three public art projects! The next few months will be no sleep sore back and blisters but it feels good to be working this hard for ourselves. We were told by a friend last week that owning your own business is for people who will kill themselves 80 hours a week to avoid a 40 hour work week, so true!
