Yep we made some pot rack hooks in the forge this morning in San Antonio, blacksmith activity in the summer is not fun. We generally try and make that a winter sport. Almost done with cigar press replicas and about to get started on a huge light fixture project.

First and foremost Omission Lager is the best Gluten free beer on the market and we enjoy it often at the end of a long studio day in the San Antonio heat. Made a sample hammer yesterday to show some of our oddball groomsmen gift options, we make all kinds of odd stuff for theme weddings. Got a few new table projects in the works and Autumn is staining and sealing like crazy in the office. Also a pic of our first full page ad thanks to the San Antonio Current.
Autumn had her folks down this weekend and they helped us put up a much needed back porch on our house, Thanks so much Kathy and Deano! And as she tends to do unexpectedly Autumn locked me out of the car again and made me dance to get back in. Today is working on giant cigar presses for a trade show. Recently found this picture of my great grandfather Simon Saleh whom I was named after and his first delivery truck. I can't help but feel like I am repeating some family history. Simon Saleh started a door to door candy and tobacco distribution company around 100 years ago and grew it into a huge business with a fleet of delivery trucks. He was known for treating everyone from the biggest customer to the smallest with the same respect and Autumn and I now use that same philosophy with our little growing business today, so from the great grandson you never met, thank you for giving me inspiration to run my business the same way.Autumn was playing barista thank goodness, it was like a personal Starbucks. Got to the studio before sunrise today and are ready to go, we are trying to be that bird! Yesterday we customized yet another Restoration Hardware product. Restoration Hardware Hacks! Today we get further down the rabbit hole with a fun project where we are building huge replicas of antique cigar presses for a trade show! Felt so good with a breeze in the shop today in San Antonio that welding didn't feel so bad! Even our glitter jacket was dancing the superman! Went to our reclaimed wood folks over at Alamo Hardwoods and were checking out the goods and then headed back to the studio for more work. Made a custom chair base to replace a broke one from Restoration Hardware, they have cool stuff but its not handmade and it comes from countries that have cheap factories that make bad products, nothing like what we make at Wanderlust Ironworks! This has become one of our specialties, we fix stuff people buy from there all the time, come to us first we will make it from scratch and better than what you find factory made and for around the same price range. Do it right the first time. Also Tig was flapping around the city with his giant ears. Done with light fixtures! We can take your child's drawings and turn them into functional art. Got done yesterday and hit the river to cool off. We brought Tig the shop dog and he made it through the rapids no problem! Blue heeler is just one of those indestructible breeds that nothing bothers them. Got to beta test our fake tattoos also while on the comal. This morning we are almost done with a set of custom light fixtures that are made as reproductions of our clients daughters drawings. They light up from behind the eyes and mouth. Also we have a San Antonio double rainbow from the other day which makes me want sushi for some reason? Also is a picture of a sculpture that I turned into a light fixture a while ago made of cast plastic from my actual arm and cut up and layered with thick steel plates. We also got stickers in and fake tattoos for our Vegas Vacation! We will be poolside for a few days and thought tattoos would be a good conversation piece.
